DRAFT GEAR SYSTEM

Draft Gear System, as well as called coupler system is a mechanism system for connecting rolling stock in a train. The design of the draft gear system is standard, and is almost as the track gauge, since flexibility and convenience are maximized if all rolling stock can be coupled together.As a typical design, draft gear system should be includes Coupler, Yoke, Buffer and other accessories for connecting the related parts.TEDRAIL supplied completed Draft Gear system for the freight wagon, passenger coach and locomotive according to the customers’ railcar design. SASKOP COUPLER SYSTEM

  • SASKOP coupler system is similar with AAR E coupler system. Yoke, buffer,(Draft Gear ),follower and draft key other accessories of SASKOP coupler system is exchanged with those of AAR E coupler system Except the coupler body and knuckle.

  • SASKOP coupler is a kind of Knuckle coupler, includes “SS”,”MS” and “HS” types which are widely used on African, such as South Africa, Botswana, Tanzania, Zambia.

Installment Requirement
Coupler (MCA-PH) Hook ending with lifting gear:
  • Size from hook end to center of link pin: 298±3

  • Size from center of link pin to draft key end: 787±5

  • Hook’s rotation is in good condition and no binding.

  • No lack of welding line’s surface.

  • Each pin’s installment direction is correct.

Coupler (MCA-PH) Yoke ending with lifting gear:
  • Size from yoke body end to center of link pin: 362±3

  • Size from center of link pin to draft key end: 787±5

  • No binding of coupling block,yoke nut and screw with screw thread’s rotation.

  • No lack of welding line’s surface.

  • Each pin’s installment direction is correct.

Painting and Lubrication
  • Hole, screw thread, pin and other rotation place are all painted by calcium base grease.

  • Surface’s paint is even, no lack.

Maintenance
  • Dairy maintenance and no special tools, lubricate at fixed period, visual check.

  • Check hook’s important components whether appear clacking and wear limit. Including axle pin assembly, hook,column, draft key, hook bolt, hook body and so on.

  • Check yoke’s important components whether appear clacking and wear limit. Including slipper, draft key, yoke body, link, coupling block, screw, screw handle, yoke nut, yoke and so on.

  • Check hole, screw thread, pin and other rotation place are in good lubrication condition.

Packaging

To prevent from mechanical damage, coupler should use special container or user specified way of packing during transport. Especially coupler’s important structural positions should be take effective protective measure in advance.

AAR TYPE COUPLER SYSTEM

AAR couplers, known as Alliance coupler, Janney Coupler or Knuckle Coupler is a kinds of semi-automatic railway couplers. They are most popular couplers in the world due to the simplicity design, low cost and easy manufacture. Tedrail supply the AAR couplers with following features:

  • Coupler Type: AAR E Type, AAR E/F Type, AAR F Type, AAR FR Type, AAR H Type.

  • Main components are coupler and coupler accessories, yoke, yoke pin, draft gear, coupler guide, follower and so on.

  • Coupler system should be fixed in the center sill, except coupler head was exposed to connect the wagons.

  • Tedrail AAR couplers are designed per AAR specifications. Material, production, and test will be following AAR specifications.

  • The main specifications have AAR M-211,AAR M-201,AAR M-901,and so on.
